The Denied - S/T 7" (1993)

I know very little about this band other than it was Steve Distraughts' project between Jesus Chrust, and Distraught.  This is a ripping record in its own right! NYC Cider Punks from the glory days of pre-giulianni punk in the once filthiest city in the world.  Squat or Rot! The inside features a drawing of a punk with huge hair sipping cider from a huge straw out of a huge barrel and his shirt reads "Jock Rocks Dead and Your Next!".... I'm pretty sure thats why I bought this record, so here it is!

  1. I Think there was a member of Aus-Rotten in the band too. The singer Mike went on to sing in the post GG Murder Junkies

  2. Douggie Ham, the drummer for this band went on to join The Krays shortly after and recorded the first LP and multiple demos, comps and 7"s

  3. The history of the band goes something like this:The band started in New England which Steve Distraught was a member of.It disbanded and Steve moved to N.Y.and eventually played in Jesus Chrust.Chrust split up and Steve reforms The Denied. The first N.Y.lineup is Steve on guitar,Pedro(Jesus Chrust)on Vocals,Mike(DD Ramone Band)on bass and DougE.Hamm(Suicide Sisters)on drums.Shortly after the band started,Pedro quit for personal reasons. He was replaced by the bands friend Fred Denied aka Fred Chaos.Fred never preformed on stage due to stage fright.Fred was replaced by Erin from Aus Rotten, this is who is singing on the 7inch and the line up they are most known for.Erin was short lived due to some problems he had in the scene and eventually with the band.Erin was replaced by Alex(Sunset Skins),a skinhead who was the bands roommate. With Alex the band sounded like Negative Approach or an Oi band and the band seem to be steering away from what was achieved on the 7inch.Steve decided to call it a day for the Denied due to mikes heroin problems and disinterest with the band. After the bands break up Steve, along with Doug and Todd Warning started Distraught.
